Personal injury claim for worker after accident at work
A worker who was caught in the Buncefield oil plant explosion is seeking accident compensation.
This comes after an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) concluded last month and found five firms guilty of breaking health and safety regulations in relation to the accident.
As a result, the companies – which included petrol firm Total – had to pay £9.5m in fines.
Now, tanker driver Bruce Rice is making a personal injury claim, after the explosion left him with spinal problems, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, according to the London Evening Standard.
Mr Rice had just driven into the staff car park at the oil depot when Britain’s largest peacetime explosion occurred.
