A couple is making a personal injury claims against a tour operator after their child suffered food poisoning whilst they were on holiday.
Ediz and Jenny Mevlit were staying at the Royal Atlas hotel in Morocco when their daughter contracted the salmonella bug, which can be fatal for young children.
The couple themselves suffered mild stomach pain, but their daughter had a fever, as well as vomiting and diarrhoea. They told the Evening Standard that they "genuinely feared for her health".
The Mevlits’ case could be the first of many personal injury claims made against Thomson, as the couple found that other guests suffered food poisoning at the hotel, with one review on Trip Advisor describing the fare as "inedible".
Thomson state that all their hotels "are closely monitored to ensure the highest health, safety and comfort levels are maintained".
