Soho man accused of fraudulent personal injury claims
A man who made a number of injury claims against various London councils has been accused of fraud.
Nathan Williams, who lives in Soho, made compensation claims against Wandsworth, Tower Hamlets and Greenwich councils amongst others over the course of the past three years.
City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court confirmed that Williams faced eight fraud charges relating to supposed injuries sustained, including fracturing his hip, injuring his hand and hurting his knee.
Had all these personal injury claims been collected, it could have cost the councils hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Williams has been remanded in custody and will next appear in court on September the 1st.
The case highlights the fact that only people with genuine accident compensation claims should seek damages.
